Day 185: $1.29 to NY Police and Fire Fund

It's a beautiful (but hot and humid) 4th of July, and I was able to donate to the New York Police and Fire Fund today by purchasing Beyonce's version of Lee Greenwood's song "God Bless the USA" on iTunes. All proceeds from the sale go to the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund. What a great idea! I'm not sure how many times I would necessarily listen to this song (I probably would like Greenwood's version better than Beyonce's anyway) but that's really not why I purchased it. I hope more artists do something similar.
