Day 189: painting supplies

Today I purchased about $45 in painting supplies for a room at my school. I'm developing a student-led writing center. While this is definitely my project that I'm donating to, I still feel it counts as a legitimate donation. I had hoped to find grant money to start and support the writing center, but so far nothing has come through. Looks like I will be financially supporting this endeavor. Things like this never change, do they?  Teachers spend a lot of money at schools; schools spend a lot of money on investments and items not directly related to education.
